Don't Stress about the Good Stuff

I have been running around crazy the last week or two trying to get ready for the It's My Heart Christmas Party. I have been stressed and a little crabby. It kind of hit me yesterday when I was in Costco (Saturday afternoon in December--it was PACKED!) trying to pick up 180 sandwiches for this party. I was running a little late and weaving around shoppers trying to get to the check out lane so I could get to the hospital on time. I was feeling stressed and a little impatient with slow walkers in front of me. I had this thought like "Who do you think you are, Marty". Then I just kind of realized that I need to enjoy things a little more. I need to enjoy throwing parties or giving lessons or preparing sharing time or whatever I'm doing. Why stress and be crabby and feel like everybody needs to get out of my way so I can get my thing done. Throwing a party is fun! It really is. Preparing lessons is a wonderful opportunity. So, I am making a December resolution to not get stressed out about the good stuff. There are times when it's okay to be stressed and crabby. But not when you are doing happy, fun things! I am going to enjoy the holiday season. I'm not going to stress about messes, going Christmas shopping, getting Christmas cards out, getting parties ready, or anything else!

You are a beacon of goodness, Marty. I'm also very jealous you were at Costco.

Marty! I just stumbled upon your blog thanks to Katy's. I am so glad that you are blogging. Now I can find out what is going on with our favorite family in Austin.

Hope the party turned out great! I am sure it did--Shoal creek parties were always so much fun and very impressive.
