I have to brag about Marty. You wouldn't know it by looking at her, but she plays a nasty game of Connect Four. You know... that game that is a cross between tick-tack-toe and checkers. We had a single elimination bracket tournament last Sunday night among me, Marty, and six of our extended family members.
Not only did Marty end up winning the whole thing, but she won the last two games only placing four pieces. Below is a picture of how the bracket progressed.
To give you an idea of the atmosphere, Ryan had won some pretty solid games before he made it to the final, and Amanda was the winner of a previous five-person tournament we had played. So the stakes were high. And Marty stepped up to the plate and exec
uted the Connect Four equivalent of pulling someone's jersey over their head in a hockey game and punching them silly. What a champ.

Freaking Awesome. I'm so proud of you Marty! There is nothing cooler than Connect Four.
BUT seriosuly, 4 pieces?? Incredible!
Thanks, Rick.
Yes, my talents are not being wasted. I've been working on my Connect 4 game.:)
Cool! What was the prize? Does she not have to do dishes for a week or something cool like that?
I am so happy Rick shared this important information. In college I held the champion title for most wins at Clue. Me and Mrs. Peacock...with the candlestick!
Very impressive, Marty. Steve, my competitive husband, would like a match-up with you. He apparently has been spending some time brushing up on his skills as well since his i-pod touch has Connect 4 on it. Hum, I may need to have a little chat with him about how to use his free time . . .
whoa...those are some mad skills!
You rock, marty!
That cracks me up. I was the Connect Four champion in third grade. I challenge you to a duo the next time I'm in Utah.
