My doctor made me wait until I was 23 weeks pregnant to have my ultrasound so they could get a better view when they checked for heart defects. So, I finally had my ultrasound on Friday and we have lots of good news.
The first thing the perinatolgist was going to check was the heart. The doctor went right to it and I saw all four chambers of the heart and a beautiful aortic arch (these were some of the most serious of Katie's heart defects). Truthfully, I just cried when I saw that beautiful, healthy heart. At that point I could have been done with the ultrasound. I was so relieved and grateful.
She continued her examination and checked the sex of the baby and we're having another girl! Will probably took the news the hardest. I told him after school right when I picked him up and he just put his head down on the handlebars of his scooter. But I always tell him that even if he never has a brother, he's got his dad. And Rick has a driver's license and a credit card--that's way more fun than any little brother could be. Well, maybe not. But one day he'll have 3 brothers-in-law. Anyway, Jane and Katie were of course very excited. So, we're going to have a house full of girls sprinkled with a few boys. We're so excited for this little one to come.

Oh my goodness! Congratulations! I am so happy for a healthy baby, what an answer to your prayers, I'm sure. And another sweet girl to play dress up, and paint your toe nails. What more could a mom want!

Wow! Another girl! I have to admit- I do love girls. Poor Will- even if it were a boy though, he'd be 8 1/2 years apart- he'd probably just annoy him. Brady had no brothers and he turned out all right- wait, he's not alright- he is very unsympathetic because he only had sisters. Sorry, bad example. Congrats on a healthy baby girl. I'm so excited to see her.

oh hooray. I'm sorry Will is bummed. He can't see it now, but those three little girls will make for some great father son time for Rick and Will. They'll become allies. I'm happy for her heart. Wanting to talk to you soon.

Ahh, so wonderful! Anna took the news of Parker being a boy really hard also. She was trying not to cry because she was afraid I would be upset. You can just never win sometimes! I'm happy for you! That is just wonderful!
